Anthony Kim shot 2-under par on Sunday and prevailed on the first whole of a playoff with Vaughn Taylor to claim his third PGA title and first of 2010. With this win, Kim is looking like the dynamic player that The Beast got in a 3rd round steal. He has now finished in the top 25 in four of the five tournaments he has played for The Beast this year, and leads his roster with 185 points. Apart from Kim, it was a relatively quiet week for golfers from our league. The only other notable top 10s were Matt Kuchar and Bryce Molder who both tied for 8th.
Fantasy Impact: With The Masters quickly approaching next week, The Beast proved he is ready by logging a win, a top 10, and an additional top 15. With a lineup that should include Kim, Stricker, Kuchar and Watney, The Beast has to be considered a favorite to post a big score in the first major of the year. Brent continues to cool down after a ridiculous first five weeks to the season. After posting 585 points in his first five weeks, he has just 155 in his last three. A lead that once looked insurmountable, no longer looks nearly as big. He’ll need a big week from his stars if he wants to prove he’s still the cream of the crop. Jon Mark’s team has proven very inconsistent in the last four weeks, with scores of 120, 5, 160, and 10. If this pattern continues, it points to a big week for the fantasy chief. However, inconsistency is never something to strive for, and Jm knows that. Well it was a typical week for James’ team. A casual 40 pointer which seems to be the norm for his boys right now. Lets hope they can break out of their funk next week where Johnson and Mickelson are both former champions, and set up a run for atleast fifth place.
That’s all for this week. Next week is The Masters, a tradition unlike any other. So make sure you get your rosters and explosions in on time. With 200 points on the line to the winner, anything can happen and we should see some big movement in the leaderboard.
The Roster and Standings updates are also up from this week’s Houston Open so feel free to check those out at your leisure.
